How Green Dreams started
Green Dreams Landscaping started the way most good things do — with one person, a ute and a stubborn refusal to leave a job half-finished. Brett had spent years on the tools in earthworks and drainage around Christchurch, and kept seeing the same thing: gardens that looked lovely for a season, then sagged, slumped or drowned because the work underneath was rushed.
So he built a landscaping company that does both halves properly. More than a decade on, we take on everything from full landscape builds and landscape design to retaining walls, decking, paving, planting, irrigation, artificial turf and garden maintenance — for new subdivisions in Rolleston and Lincoln, established Christchurch suburbs and lifestyle blocks out at West Melton.
We are the sister company of Pipe Dreams Drainage & Excavation Ltd, which means we shape the ground, set the levels and handle the machine work ourselves rather than hand it to someone else and hope for the best. On Canterbury sections — heavy silt in parts of the city, free-draining gravels further out — that control over levels is the difference between a garden that ages well and one that does not.
We stay deliberately small. One main job at a time, Brett on site, the same faces from the first visit to the final walk-around. We are fully insured and Site Wise Green rated, so the paperwork and safety side is sorted before we arrive.

What we believe
Beauty first
A garden should stop you at the back door. That is the point of all of it.
Built to last
Proper bases, proper levels, proper drainage — so it still looks great in five years.
One person accountable
Brett quotes it, runs it and hands it over.
No job too small
A single rock wall or a whole Christchurch section — same standard either way.
